Every evening Monday-Friday around 6, 6:30pm we offer an opportunity for our guests to meet each other over pizza and drinks. The pizza is free and we have beer, wine and cocktails for sale. It's a friendly, relaxed way to meet fellow travelers as well as chat with either Linda, Steve or one of our volunteers if you have any questions about Rome or want suggestions or recommendations.
Our Storytellers events have been on pause due to Covid restrictions.
Storytellers Rome and Storytellers Florence are monthly English language oral storytelling evenings we began hosting back in 2015 in Rome and 2018 in Florence. In Rome, the event takes place outdoors in warm weather at The Beehive and at Zem Yoga Studio in colder/wetter months. In Florence, the event is held at Todo Modo bookshop. A theme is decided and then people attending the event are invited to share a story based on the theme. Participation is not required to attend. It's a few hours away from our screens, creating connections, friendships and community in the sharing.
We are a community space and over the years we have hosted a variety of events from clothes swaps, art exhibits, wine tastings, book readings and more! Contact us if you would like to hold a small group event in our courtyard that you think will correspond with our Beehive ethos. Our cooking classes are on pause due to Covid restrictions.
Steve teaches cooking classes a couple of times a week. In his pizza making class. He shows how to make the dough properly, how to top it authentically, then bakes a pre-risen dough showing you the tricks of how to get great results from a conventional oven.
€25 for Beehive guests and €35 for outside guests.
Steve also teaches a hands-on pasta making class. Everyone makes their own dough, rolls it out and cuts it into tagliatelle by hand. Steve shows you how to make few simple sauces to go with it - then everyone eats!
€30 for Beehive guests and €45 for outside guests.
